BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Nathan Killian's early religious background was Evangelical United Brethren. Although he had been raised in this religious atmosphere, he attended church merely as an outward form. However, during those formative years he found that a seed of the gospel was planted in his life.

Later, while pursuing a graduate degree at Bloomsburg University, he accepted an invitation to attend a series of special church services. During this time, he made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and his life was dramatically changed. He then furthered his education at Valley Forge Christian College.

By way of a seminary education; in 1982, he received a Doctor of Theology Degree; in 1990, he received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree; in 2005, he received his second Doctor of Philosophy Degree.

Dr. Nathan Killian is a denominationally ordained minister and has served in multiple ministry capacities throughout the years. He has traveled both nationally and internationally in a teaching and preaching ministry. These religious services were conducted for churches of various denominations.

His ministry has been through pastoring, evangelism, television, radio, teaching cassettes, and the writing of books. His published books and broad subject range of cassettes have been released in the United States and foreign countries. Churches which he has pastored were honored by being listed in the "fastest growing category" within the United States.

Dr. Killian’s educational history includes the following degrees: Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theology, Doctor of Theology, Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Psychology (Magna Cum Laude), Doctor of Philosophy in Institutionary Administration (Magna Cum Laude), and Doctor of Literary Letters.  He has been a "Professional Clinical Member" of the National Christian Counselors Association since 1992.

Over the years, he has been notably active in the field of religious education academia. Prior to becoming President of Evangelical Theological Seminary, he was scholastically involved in various seminary programs.

Dear Prospective Student:

If we had lived in the historical era of the Old Testament and seen, with our own eyes, the infinite God majestically revealing Himself at the Red Sea or Mount Carmel, perhaps then we would have admitted to ourselves that an all powerful God absolutely existed.

If we had lived in the historical era of the New Testament and seen Jesus Christ, God's Son, walking so humbly, yet with divine purpose, into city after city to perform miraculous acts of mercy, perhaps then we would have heartily agreed that a supreme God really did exist.

To have been among the searching, inquisitive, and curious crowds as Jesus gave spiritual, physical, and mental life would have certainly been most convincing.

As true and powerful as the commanding voice of God to Moses thousands of years ago; as true as the soothing voice of Jesus Christ to the wild raging sea; as true as the delivering decrees to those who were plagued with difficulties - so today, that majestic voice speaks assuringly out of the pages of the Bible.

The Word of God positively proclaims tidings of blessing and joy. God's revelation reveals a Savior. It faithfully heralds the word of life. The Bible's inspired words, empowered by the Holy Spirit, speak forth eloquently to a troubled world.

This generation's problems are overwhelming. Multitudes are void of purpose and inner-stability. Fears run rampant through the mind. The hope of peace and tranquility is gone. Many are depressed. Spiritual bondage is everywhere. While life is to be eventful and hold reasonable meaning, it is obvious that a great deal of uncertainty prevails.

Certain overwhelming facts must be recognized: God has not left the human race to flounder unmercifully on life's raging sea. He has not left us alone to deal with the storms of life. He has not forsaken our generation!

God has "called" and is still "calling" today for laborers in the harvest fields of life. His desire is that many will heed the scriptural invitation of "Go ye therefore and teach all nations." If you are now in the ministry or if you have a desire to be involved in the ministry, you must prepare in order to successfully fulfill God's eternal plan for your life.

We believe that the following Scriptures are at the very heart of Evangelical Theological Seminary:

  • "Preach the Word" (2 Timothy 4:2, KJV)

  • "Teach all nations" (Matthew 28:19, KJV)

  • "Make disciples" (Matthew 28:19, TLB)

  • "They ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ" (Acts 5:42, KJV)

  • "The same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2, KJV)

  • "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV)

  • "Know what his word says and means" (2 Timothy 2:15, TLB)

We, at Evangelical Theological Seminary, want our students to receive the best in academic instruction and training. The courses are biblically oriented and solidly grounded on the Word of God for equipping each student in their particular field of endeavor for God.

We invite you to join with us in your educational pursuit toward the fulfillment of God's will for a lifetime of ministry.

Sincerely in Christ,

Dr. Nathan Killian
