curricula - bachelor programs


FRESHMAN:  First Year

The Freshman year educational program is presented to academic students who are required to successfully complete  30 credit hours, with passing grades for each course.  This first year curriculum will provide needful foundational learning experience which is essential for all areas of Christian ministry.  It will also enhance the development of a maturing Christian's knowledge through systematic study.  In order to receive college credit, a high school diploma or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives the required credits.

SOPHOMORE:  Second Year

The Sophomore year educational program is presented to those students who have received 30 credits from successfully completing their Freshman year academic program and now continue to complete the 30 credit hour Sophomore program.  A student can enter the Sophomore year by having previously earned 30 theological credits which are transferable from another college.  A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives three credits.

THEOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE OF ARTS STUDIES (Not Required)

When the required Freshman and Sophomore curricula have been completed and all of the seminary's academic requirements fulfilled, a student can then enroll in the Theological Associate of Arts Studies program.  Although not a required academic program, many students desire to receive this degree.  For a student to be awarded this degree, they must present verification of the complete reading of the Old Testament and the New Testament within the previous two years.  The student can choose any version of the Bible for this reading assignment.  Also, a degree thesis (DR 231) is required and can be written on a theological topic of the student's choice.  This topic must be approved by the seminary.  A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is necessary.  Fees:  For the degree thesis reading, grading, and processing, there is a financial charge.

JUNIOR: Third Year

The Graduate of Theology program is presented to those students who have previously received a minimum of 60 credits and are now required to complete the seminary's Junior year program for an additional 30 credit hours.  A student can also enter the Junior year by having earned 60 transferable theological credits.  A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives three credits.

SENIOR:  Fourth Year Bachelor Degree

The Bachelor Degree is presented to students who have accomplished the completion of a minimum of 120 semester credit hours.  This degree represents an academic achievement to each student.  In order to receive a Bachelor Degree, the student must have previously received a minimum of 90 credits.  These credits can be from Evangelical Theological Seminary or 90 transferable theological credits.  A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives three credits.
