BACHELOR DEGREE CURRICULA
 

FRESHMAN:  First Year

The Freshman year educational program is presented to academic students who are required to successfully complete  30 credit hours, with passing grades for each course.  This first year curriculum will provide needful foundational learning experience which is essential for all areas of Christian ministry.  It will also enhance the development of a maturing Christian’s knowledge through systematic study.  In order to receive college credit, a high school diploma or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives the required credits.

SOPHOMORE:  Second Year

The Sophomore year educational program is presented to those students who have received 30 credits from successfully completing their Freshman year academic program and now continue to complete the 30 credit hour Sophomore program.  A student can enter the Sophomore year by having previously earned 30 theological credits which are transferable from another college.  A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives three credits.

THEOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE OF ARTS STUDIES (Not Required)
When the required Freshman and Sophomore curricula have been completed and all of the seminary's academic requirements fulfilled, a student can then enroll in the Theological Associate of Arts Studies program.  Although not a required academic program, many students desire to receive this degree.  For a student to be awarded this degree, they must present verification of the complete reading of the Old Testament and the New Testament within the previous two years.  The student can choose any version of the Bible for this reading assignment.  Also, a degree thesis (DR 231) is required and can be written on a theological topic of the student’s choice.  This topic must be approved by the seminary.  A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is necessary.  Fees:  For the degree thesis reading, grading, and processing, there is a financial charge.
 

JUNIOR:  Third Year

The Junior year educational program is presented to those students who have previously received a minimum of 60 credits and are now required to complete the seminary's Junior year program for an additional 30 credit hours.  A student can also enter the Junior year by having earned 60 transferable theological credits.  A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives three credits.

SENIOR:  Fourth Year — Bachelor Degree
The Bachelor Degree is presented to students who have accomplished the completion of a minimum of 120 semester credit hours.  This degree represents an academic achievement to each student.  In order to receive a Bachelor Degree, the student must have previously received a minimum of 90 credits.  These credits can be from Evangelical Theological Seminary or 90 transferable theological credits.  A high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is required.  Each completed course receives three credits.  (CW 430 is not required if previously taken and passed.)
 
BACHELOR OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELING   B. C. C.
The Bachelor of Christian Counseling is made academically available for those individuals who eventually will be, or who are now, active participants in the counseling ministry.

BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE

In order to academically qualify for the Bachelor of Arts Degree, a student must have completed 120 semester credit hours.  The requirement is that 39 of these credits are to be in general education or liberal arts courses such as English, history, sociology, mathematics, science, etc.  These Bachelor of Arts credits can be earned through a number of methods: (1) completing the academic requirements of Evangelical Theological Seminary, (2) credit for verifiable life experience, (3) credit transfer from approved universities, colleges, and seminaries, (4) taking exclusive degree equivalency examination.  The Bachelor of Arts Degree is academically available in the following majors:
 
CHRISTIAN COUNSELING:  A thorough biblical knowledge for proficiency in Christian counseling.
 

THEOLOGY:   Comprehensive study of religious issues and theological doctrines.

 
DIVINITY: Informative and scholastic studies which relate to ministerial responsibilities.
 
BIBLICAL STUDIES:  The presentation of a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Scripture.
 
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:  A curriculum which will allow the Christian educators to be distinctly instructed and well-informed.
 
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE

In order to academically qualify for the Bachelor of Science Degree, a student must have completed 120 semester credit hours.  The requirement is that 19 of these credits are to be in general education or liberal arts courses such as English, history, sociology, mathematics, science, etc.  These Bachelor of Science credits can be earned through a number of methods: (1) completing the academic requirements of Evangelical Theological Seminary, (2) credit for verifiable life experience, (3) credit transfer from approved universities, colleges, and seminaries, (4) taking exclusive degree equivalency examination.  The Bachelor of Science Degree is academically available in the following majors:

MASTER DEGREE CURRICULA

The Master Degree is presented to students who have accomplished the completion of a minimum of 150 semester credit hours.  Evangelical Theological Seminary’s Master Degree program has a 38 semester credit hour minimum of study.  A Bachelor Degree is required and must be from an acceptable seminary, college, or university.  The student may receive earned credits through transfer from a recognized seminary, college, or university to Evangelical Theological Seminary.  Also, credits may be earned toward the Master Degree through verifiable ministerial life experience.  A Master Thesis is required and receives 8 credit hours.  The Master Degree will require approximately two years to three years to complete.  The seminary must receive confirmation of high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent and transcripts verifying the completion of the Bachelor Degree, with all other courses which the student desires to transfer.  Course CW 530 Introduction to College Writing is not required if previously taken and passed.*

The Master Degree will include the following:

MASTER OF DIVINITY    M.  Div.
The Master of Divinity Degree is offered with regard to professional preparation for pastors, missionaries, evangelists, educators, and other church ministries.  The Master of Divinity Degree requires intensive and dedicated academic studies.  The curriculum may be completed in three years, depending on the student’s other responsibilities, but more time is allowed.  It requires the completion of 102 semester credit hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B).  A Bachelor Degree is required and must be from an acceptable seminary, college, or university.  The student may receive earned credits through transfer from a recognized seminary, college, or university to Evangelical Theological Seminary.  Also, credits may be earned toward the Master of Divinity Degree through verifiable ministerial life experience.  A thesis is required and receives 8 semester credit hours.  The seminary must receive confirmation of high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent and transcripts verifying the completion of the Bachelor Degree, with all other courses which the student desires to transfer.  Course CW 530 Introduction to College Writing is not required if previously taken and passed.*

DOCTOR DEGREE CURRICULA
The Doctor Degree is presented to students who have accomplished the completion of a minimum of 180 semester credit hours.  Evangelical Theological Seminary’s Doctor Degree program has a 40 semester credit hour minimum of study.  A Bachelor Degree and a Master Degree are required and must be from an acceptable seminary, college, or university.  The student may receive earned credits through transfer from a recognized seminary, college, or university to Evangelical Theological Seminary.  Also, credits may be earned toward the Doctor Degree through verifiable ministerial life experience.  A doctoral dissertation is required and receives 10 credit hours.  The Doctor Degree will require approximately three years to five years to complete.  This includes the Doctoral Disseration.  A 3.0 (B) grade average is mandatory for graduation in the doctoral program. 
 
Evangelical Theological Seminary must receive confirmation of high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent and transcripts verifying the completion of the Bachelor Degree and Master Degree, with all other courses which the student desires to transfer.
The Doctor Degree will include the following:
